Katherine's daughter, taken from her at birth in 1490 and raised by strangers. She spent five hundred years looking for her mother, found her in 2013, and got a handful of episodes with her before dying of a werewolf bite.
She offers her own body first, is refused, and then arranges for a Traveler to pass Katherine's consciousness into Elena instead — which gives her mother a few more weeks and the show one of its better twists.
