A warlock of the ancient world, engaged to the most powerful witch alive, who talked her into creating an immortality elixir and then drank it with her handmaiden. Qetsiyah buried him alive on an island with the only cure beside him, so that his only escape would be to become mortal, die, and be trapped on her Other Side forever rather than find peace with Amara.
He spent two thousand years desiccated in a tomb, conscious, and came out in 2013 with a powerful psychic gift and one goal: destroy the Other Side, die, and find Amara. He got two out of three. Amara was already free, already cured, and killed herself within days. Silas was cured with Katherine's blood and killed by Stefan Salvatore, whose face he had been wearing for months.
