The first siren
One of two sisters shipwrecked in antiquity, kept alive by Cade and made immortal in exchange for delivering him souls. Sirens lure people psychically, take total control of their minds, and eat. The show does not soften the cannibalism.
Sealed in the St. John family's Armory vault for centuries, released in 2016, and immediately in Damon and Stefan's heads. Her control does not require eye contact and cannot be blocked by vervain, which makes her the one antagonist against whom the town's standard defences do nothing at all.

- Seline is her sister, and betrayed her — Sybil spent most of their shared history believing a lie about their origin.
- Anyone who hears her voice in the vault belongs to her, which is how the Armory falls.
