The Mystic Falls Codex

Two thousand years of one story, Silas to the Salvatore School.

Origins & Immortals · Era I, The First Immortals

Amara

c. 100 BC

The handmaiden Silas chose. Qetsiyah did not kill her — she did something worse. Amara was made the Anchor to the Other Side: awake, immortal, and used as the doorway through which every supernatural death passed for two thousand years. Silas spent all of it believing she was simply dead.

Details

  • Amara is the original face. Tatia, Katerina Petrova and Elena Gilbert are all her shadows.
  • When she is finally freed in 2013 she is not grateful. She has been conscious for two millennia and wants only to die.
  • She drank the second dose from Silas's own supply. Qetsiyah showed Silas a body and let him believe it was hers.
  • As the Anchor she was kept in a stone box, conscious, for roughly two thousand years, feeling every supernatural death pass through her.
  • Nina Dobrev plays Amara, Tatia, Katherine and Elena — the same face at four points across two thousand years, which is the point.
