Siphoners turned into vampires: Valerie, Oscar, Nora, Mary Louise, Beau and Malcolm — Lily's found family. A siphoner vampire is a magic-using vampire, the exact combination the Gemini built prison worlds to prevent, because a vampire is an endless magical battery to siphon from.

- Locked away in 1903, released in 2015, and briefly the most dangerous thing in Virginia.
- Valerie was pregnant with Stefan's child in 1863 before Julian beat it out of her. The show does not soften this.
- Valerie Tulle was Stefan's first love in 1863; Julian beat her while she was pregnant with Stefan's child, and she killed herself, turning with Lily's blood already in her.
- Nora and Mary Louise are a couple who have been together for a century, and their relationship is treated as the most stable thing in the group.
- Beau does not speak — his throat was cut before he turned — and communicates by singing, which is the strangest and best detail in the arc.
