The Gemini Coven
A coven built around one horrifying tradition. Every generation produces a set of twins; at a set age they merge, and the stronger absorbs the weaker, who dies. The survivor leads the coven. They also build prison worlds — perfect looping repeats of a single day — and use them as cells.
Details
- Siphoners are Gemini children born without magic of their own who can only draw it out of other magical things. The coven treats them as abominations.
- The coven is wiped out in a single act in 2015 — Kai, its new leader, killing himself. The Merge tradition outlives every witch who believed in it, which is the entire tragedy of Legacies.
- Joshua Parker led the coven and was willing to sacrifice any of his children to the tradition, including sending his own son into a prison world.
- The merge produces one witch with the strength of two. The loser does not die instantly — they are absorbed, which the show is careful to make look horrible.
- Kai destroys the coven in 2015 by killing his father, which links every Gemini life to Joshua's and kills them all at once.
