Alaric and Caroline's daughters. Conceived from Alaric and Jo's embryos, magically moved into Caroline when Jo was killed, and born Gemini twins — and siphoners, with no magic of their own, able only to draw it out of other magical things.

- Josie siphons; Lizzie is loud, bipolar in the show's own words, and the more sympathetic of the two by a distance.
- They are the Gemini coven's last generation, which is the entire problem.
- Josie is the accommodating one, Lizzie the loud one, and the show is honest that the family dynamic set that up rather than nature.
- Josie goes dark in season two, absorbing enormous power and nearly killing everyone, and the recovery is treated seriously.
- Lizzie's arc is about being told she is the problem for long enough that she believes it.
