Gemini cells: one day, repeating forever, alone. Malachai "Kai" Parker — a siphoner and a genuine sociopath who murdered four of his siblings at twenty-two — spent 1994 in one, until Bonnie and Damon landed there and he came back out with them. He is the most effective villain the franchise produced.
Details
- Kai's linking spell puts Elena into a coma tied to Bonnie's lifespan, which removes the lead character for two seasons.
- Jo was his twin; Luke took her place in the Merge and lost. Kai later returns from the dead in Legacies to menace the next generation of Gemini twins.
- The 1994 world repeats 10 May 1994 forever. Kai spent eighteen years there before Damon and Bonnie arrived.
- Kai's exit requires the ascendant, a Bennett witch's blood and a celestial event — which is why he needed Bonnie specifically.
- He returns in Legacies, is beheaded by Alaric, and still manages to be the most memorable guest of the season.
