Vampires · Era III, The Long Middle
Lucien, Tristan & Aurora
The first three people the Mikaelsons ever turned: Lucien, a servant in the de Martel household; the nobleman Tristan de Martel; and Tristan's sister Aurora, whom Klaus loved and Rebekah turned against his wishes. Nine hundred years later all three come back at once, and the sireline structure they represent becomes the spine of the whole conflict.
Details
- Tristan took over the Strix — Elijah's own creation — a society of elite vampires that long outlives him and still runs half the world's money.
- Aurora was arguably the first vampire driven genuinely mad by immortality. She is still alive, and still furious, as late as Legacies.
- Lucien was a servant in the de Martel household, turned by Klaus and then compelled by Elijah to pose as Klaus while the family hid from Mikael. He spent nine hundred years being underestimated.
- Tristan de Martel was Elijah's; Elijah compelled him to walk into the sea repeatedly for centuries as punishment, and Tristan ends the story doing exactly that, forever, in a locked box.
- Aurora was Rebekah's, and Klaus loved her. Rebekah turned her against Klaus's wishes; Klaus's rage over it is a thousand years old and still fresh.
