Witches & Magic · Era V, The Doppelgänger War
Bonnie Bennett
The last Bennett. Across eight seasons she dies, becomes the Anchor, becomes the Other Side's load-bearing wall, loses her magic to the Travelers, gets stranded in 1994, has her lifespan tied to Elena's coma, and repeatedly hands over her own life so that other people's plots can proceed. By workload she is the protagonist.
Details
- She destroys Hell in the finale, which is the largest single act of magic anyone performs in the franchise.
- She survives. She is the only one of the original three friends who ends the show neither dead, undead, nor asleep.
- She loses her magic at least three times: to Expression, to the Travelers, and to Kai's linking spell.
- Her friendship with Damon, built in a prison world neither of them chose, becomes the most convincing relationship in the last four seasons.
- Enzo is her one real love, killed by Stefan, and she nearly burns down the world over it.
