Kol Mikaelson
The third Mikaelson son and the youngest brother to survive the spell — Henrik was younger — a witch before it and a vampire after it, which left him with a permanent grudge against magic and the people who use it. Klaus kept him daggered for over a century. He is killed in 2012 by Jeremy Gilbert with white oak — burned alive in a kitchen — to advance the hunt for the cure, and his entire sireline dies with him.
He returns in New Orleans in a witch's body, falls in love with Davina Claire, is turned back into an Original, and finally gets to leave with her at the end of the story. It is the least-earned and most satisfying happy ending in the family.

- He is the only Mikaelson who is frightened of the cure, because he does not want to be mortal.
- He carries a quarter of the Hollow in the last season, like his siblings, and cannot see any of them for seven years.
